TNT -- The Petite Friendly T Shirt Dress
I love T shirt dresses. They are soft comfortable and make dressing decisions easy. Pull on your dress and you are ready for the world.

I prefer to make my T shirt dresses with 100% cotton interlock or silk jersey. You can use any interlock or jersey fabric. It's your T Shirt dress, so you can choose your favorite fabric to make it.
I often get asked questions about favorite T shirt dress patterns. I have a few.
For a classic T shirt dress, nothing beats TNT: OOP McCalls 6886. It has only three pieces total: a front piece, a back piece and a sleeve. Although M6886 is now out of print, it has been replaced with McCalls 8058.

For an A-line dress, I have three favorites. I recommend: McCalls 6957 or beginner basic pattern McCalls 7122. I also like McCalls 7348, which includes an option to have a handkerchief hem. I almost always make a self belt to wear with this style dress to add shaping at the waist.... but you do not need to do so. Like the classic T shirt shape, these patterns have only three pieces that need to be sewn: a front piece, a back piece and a sleeve. Quick and easy with timeless appeal.
For a slightly more form fitting A-shaped T shirt dress, I recommend: McCalls 7313. This pattern has separate pieces for the bodice and skirt. The distinct pieces for skirt and top mean the dress does not require use of a belt for shaping. M7313 has five pieces: a front bodice, a back bodice, a front skirt, a back skirt and a sleeve.

For a fit and flare T shirt dress with just a tad more styling I like to use OOP Vogue 8663. This pattern has the same shaping as M7313 but has added pleats at the neckline to give a more flattering fit and more interesting design.
These patterns are all petite friendly. They are especially good picks for beginning sewists -- petite or not.
For the classic T Shirt style you can adjust the waist by moving where you put your self belt and then shorten the hem to your liking. For the A line T shirt style, you can easily shorten the bodice and shorten the hem.
Happy sewing!
